Simon’s Town Toy Museum

This interesting museum is home to a display of over 4000 model cars, 500 dolls, fully operating railroads, lead soldier displays and lots more. It also boasts a sales section for collectors wishing to buy something to take home. The museum is located in St George’s Street in the seaside naval town of Simon’s Town.

Penguin viewing

Simon’s Town is one of the most unique places in the world where you can see a penguin colony in suburban Cape Town! And the best way to see it is from the water! Go to a Penguin viewing and kayaking excursion that will allow you to paddle past the Naval Harbour and out to Boulder’s Beach to see the penguins. If the time and tide is right, you may stop on a beach for a swimming break and will generally be able to get a closer look at penguins on the rocks nearby.

Jubilee Square

Jubilee Square, located in the central part of Simon’s Town, provides a myriad of activities for keen visitors. You’ll have a pick of restaurants and shops, with harbour views to boot. Saturdays you can browse the craft market in the main parking area.

Simon’s Town Historical Mile

Experience the historical village of Simon’s Town since 1741 by doing the Historical Mile Walk. The walk captures the history from the days the Dutch East India Company declared Simon’s Town as the winter anchorage for their ships from 15 May to 15 August each year, to the Second British occupation of 1806, up to today. The town itself still resembles the high street of 100 years ago due to strict zoning and historical conservation. See the preserved historic buildings and visit the Simon’s Town and Naval museums. Enjoy the waterfront with its interesting coffee bars, restaurants and shops.
